Terms of Use

Effective date: May 2026

Scope

These Terms of Use govern your use of this website (dbward.dev). The dbward software is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 (open-source components) and the dbward Commercial License (commercial components). In case of conflict, the applicable LICENSE file takes precedence over these Terms for software usage.

Disclaimer of Warranty

dbward is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the software or the use or other dealings in the software.

Security Tool Expectations

dbward is a workflow and approval engine designed to add a layer of governance to database operations. It is not a replacement for:

  • Database backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection
  • Database-level access controls and permissions
  • Application-level input validation and security testing
  • Compliance frameworks or auditing certifications

dbward reduces risk but does not eliminate it. You are responsible for your overall security posture.

Availability

dbward is self-hosted software. Availability depends on your infrastructure. We do not guarantee uptime of any hosted documentation, website, or distribution service.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
